iPhone apps: Touch Karma, AudioMicro Lite, CinemaFX

  • Touch Karma ($3) can be used to track the good and bad deeds performed by friends and family members. The application includes two different sections, one is more specifically for tracking chores that kids complete. Parents can set up a goal for their kids to reach and all the chores they do will add points towards this goal and a reward can be provided at the end. The friend mode can be used to evaluate how helpful friends have been by logging their actions with points.

  • AudioMicro Lite (free) includes more than 50 profession-quality sound effects that have been contributed by members of the AudioMicro community. Users can choose to loop the sound effects, play them after a delay, and select which sound effects will show up in the application. A "Sneak Attack" feature has also been included which allows users to choose a sound to play when the iPhone or iPod touch is moved. Available sound effects include categories such as animals, burps, farts, horror, sci-fi, sports, technology, transportation, and warfare.

  • CinemaFX ($2) allows users to add various effects to their photos that have been designed to mimic the stylings of different hollywood films. The application include 21 different effects that are inspired by movies such as Twilight, Predator, 300, Sin City and Red Planet. Images can be cropped or rotated and then effects can be added and adjusted using slider bars. CinemaFX also allows users to layer multiple effects and save finished images to the devices photo library.

  • Metro Maximus ($8) is a collection of subway guides for 25 major cites around the world. The guide includes subway guides for London, New York, Paris, Montreal, Tokyo, and more. Each city includes a map of the subway paths along with information on all of the stations. The application also provides information on popular tourist attractions for each cites including which subway stations are closest.

  • Tiger Woods PGA Tour ($10) is a golf simulation for the iPhone and iPod touch that includes some of the most famous golfers and courses in the world. Golfers can play as famous golfers such as Tiger Woods, Vijay Singh and choose from 120 holes that come from seven famous courses including Pebble Beach, Doral and St. Andrews. Players control their swing by using a touch and drag Swing Meter which provides feedback to help users perfect their shot.
