Ultimate Ears UE 4 Pro

Ultimate Ears on Monday rolled out a custom-fit, in-canal earphone set positioned as a more economical option for those who still want personalized sound. The UE 4 Pro requires the use of a custom ear mold from an audiologist but has significantly less internal features than the UE 5 Pros that have normally been the only option. The difference drops the price by $200 and puts the UE 4 Pro into the price range of audiophiles as well as amateur musicians.

Dual armatures continue to be a staple of the UE 4 Pros and help separate low end frequencies from the mid- and high-end ranges. The pair also gets a $50 ambient noise option that deliberately reduces some of the passive noise cancellation for those who need background sounds for music- or safety-based reasons. Ultimate Ears ships the earphones today for $400.

better deal then UE 4 ???

I have no doubt that the UE 4 is a good product. I own an older pair or UE (not custom). Recently I found a company Earsound Customs that makes a double driver for less then the UE 4 and it includes the cost of the ear molds.
