My phone is in emergency call mode. What the h***. Won't even come up in iTunes status window, but it shows it plugged in on the sources window. Irritating much...

Backup still sucks

Too bad the new software still takes forever when iTunes does a sync backup :(((

Birthday calendar gone

Everything went fine with my download and upgrade EXCEPT they had finally figured out letting the Birthday calendar sync over MobileMe. Did they undo that capability deliberately or just forget it??

First backup takes longer

The backup/sync right before you install and after install is always much longer, since it does a 100% backup. After that, backup/sync should be fast again as it only does the changes...

Why did people give.....

Why do i have a -3? I sat for an hour with a useless iPhone in emergency call only mode because the itunes system was too busy to bother activating it. My girlfriend's iPhone update was a bit smoother, though it took a few tries to initialize the update sequence saying the network connection was dropped about 8 times. In that time frame i missed 7 calls and 10 texts all important that i then had to explain the situation without making apple look like it was a fumbling pile of moldy donuts.

After the update, speeds did improve, improved signal strength as well, and my jaw hit the floor more than once from features i did not expect at all.

It's like a whole new phone.

Also, the ONLY thing i really didn't like about the iPhone, not being able to send more than one text at a time, and each text upload effectively crippling the SMS app till it was done sending, and multi- recipient texting missing (as far as i could tell one person at a time was all it could do). Fixed. I cannot believe how lucky i am to own such an amazing device. New family plan w/ girlfriend, check. Cases & stuff on the way, check. Mind blown completely, check.

I read that this is now available via the iTunes sync settings. As of 3.0, you can now sync some items via MobileMe and some via iTunes.

Favorite Upgrade

My favorite parts of this upgrade is the Notes Synchronization and with Mail landscape orientation. That is one less piece of scrappy notepad that I have to maintain. iPhone 3.0 rocks...
