MLB At-Bat live video

The Major League Baseball At-Bat 2009 app for the iPhone is gaining live video streaming, its creators say. The upgrade is meant to coincide with today's iPhone 3.0 firmware release, and will allow people to watch complete MLB games over a Wi-Fi or 3G connection. Intermixed with footage will be in-game highlight reels.

The first games to aired through At-Bat will run on June 18th however, beginning with a Cubs vs. White Sox match-up at 2:20PM Eastern. A Tigers vs. Cardinals pairing is scheduled for 8:15PM. Afterward the app will have somewhat restricted streaming, limiting viewing to out-of-market games and those not carried on national TV; Fox Saturday and ESPN Sunday Night Baseball broadcasts should thus be blocked. Live audio will still be available for local games.

    Why, why, why

Do they restrict streaming? Why can't I watch the Phillies on my phone? I mean, the commercials will still be in there from the station, so why not? Gah, I hate that!
