Apartments.com, QuickTip

  • Photo+Map ($2) can combine a map showing the location where a picture was taken and the picture that was taken there. The maps are automatically retrieved and are added as an extension to the image instead of reducing the original size of the image. Users can additionally choose to add a time-stamp along with latitude and longitude information to the image. A recent update includes support for the new 3MP camera used in the iPhone 3GS allowing users to save images at the full 2048 x 2048 resolution.

  • Mathemagics ($1) is an application that can help a user learn to quickly calculate math problems in their head. Mathemagics includes 20 different math tricks that can help someone multiply, divide or square numbers quicker than the time it takes to use a calculator. Each math trick is accompanied by a lesson and then practice questions that progressively get more difficult.

  • Instaviz ($10) allows users to create mind maps, flowcharts and concept maps directly on an iPhone or iPod touch. When using the Edit mode users can draw shapes on the screen and the software will attempt to determine the shape and replace it with a neat ellipse, circle, rectangle, square, diamond or triangle. Shapes can then be linked by drawing a line between them. As links are made the graph is redrawn with the most appropriate layout. The application also allows users to email diagrams to Windows users as standard mail attachments.

  • Apartments.com (free) allows users to browse through apartment listings on an iPhone or iPod touch. Each apartment entry includes a video walkthrough tour along with photos, floor plans, and contact information. Users can choose quickly search for listings in their area by using the handhelds built-in location services or search for listings by city, state, and zip code.

  • QuickTip 2.0 (free) is a tip calculator which can calculate tip amounts based on a percentage. The main interface allows users to adjust the tip percentage with a slider or select customized preset values. The software works with all international currencies that are supported by the iPhone/iPod touch and also includes the option to round values up or down.
