iPhone app trends shift

iPhoneAppQuotes' analysis shows new trends in iPhone development, with a focus on medical, business and book apps. The developer network is also reporting that there has been a 30 percent increase in new members over the past three months, during which time the number of available titles on the iTunes App Store has increased to 65,000.

The development breakdown has a 50-50 split forming between business apps and consumer apps during Q1 2009, and then swinging to a 70-30 split in favor of business apps in Q2 2009. Meanwhile, game development is off 10-percent and music apps have seen a steep fall in new development. Weather, sports and photography are currently at a standstill, with little new development occurring.

The iPhoneAppQuotes is a network that matches iPhone developers with entrepreneurs and businesses that have ideas or needs for new apps.

    But

That increase in developers isn't responsible for the app count growth, unless these are magic developers who join the network and can push out descent apps in 3 months time.
