The Finger iPhone app

Pangea has released a new iPhone app, The Finger, used to manipulate a 3D hand into different signs. Notable is the presence of an animation editor, which can be used to automate motion between signs to create sign language. As necessary text can be translated into American Sign Language, for teaching or communication.

The software incorporates more than 90 built-in gestures, and users can create their own by maneuvering fingers, the thumb and the wrist. The Finger is available from the App Store for $1.

    The Finger

As the developer of The Finger, I should point out to everyone that the actual purpose of this app isn't to teach sign language. It's to be able to flip people off... seriously.

The YouTube video here will explain what it's all about: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P8KdPR0KQ0A

    OK

So we can have apps that f***, burp, and now flip people off.

But heaven forbid someone wants to use their iPhone/iPod to use Google Voice. Or download podcasts. And who knows what else.

And did they get a 17 rating? Or are the kids safe because it doesn't download content from the internet.

    It's Better Than That

Actually, it's much more interesting of an app than just something to flip people off with. It doesn't even come with that gesture which is why it isn't censored by Apple.

The real point of the app is to be a fun animation gadget for creating any type of pose and/or animation sequence you can imagine using a fully articulated 3D hand. It can be used for good or for bad... or for stupid. It's actually a very creative and smart app if you use it to it's full potential.
