Vemedio has launched an update to its Snowtape radio software, along with a new SnowRemote app for the iPhone and iPod touch. Snowtape finds and records music from streaming Internet stations. The v1.2 release delivers over 1,000 stations to choose from, and includes an enhanced algorithm for album artwork, the ability to search for stations by country, and an improved way of working with deleted items.

SnowRemote is designed to work with Snowtape and provides a playback controller, for starting and stopping music, changing volume, or toggling recording. It syncs with Snowtape via Wi-Fi, and also lets users browse through stations, or view album artwork during songs.

Snowtape is compatible with Mac OS X 10.5.2 or higher and is available from the company’s online store for $30. SnowRemote is hosted at the App Store, with a price of $1. SnowRemote requires iPhone 3.0 and the latest version of Snowtape.
