Logitech intros iPod docks

Logitech on Wednesday announced the upcoming release of two new iPod docks, including the Rechargeable Speaker S315i and the Portable Speaker S125i. The semi-portable S315i is said to be able to provide up to 20 hours of listening time from its built-in lithium-ion battery, while charging a connected dockable iPod or iPhone. Logitech has designed it with portability in mind, as the S315i is less than two inches thick and has toughened metal speaker grills covering the full-range drivers.

The smaller S125i can also play back music from and charge iPods and iPhones with Dock Connectors, but relies on either wall power or four AA batteries. There is also a bass button that lets users boost the low-end on appropriate tracks. The S125i weighs less than 1lb to make it easier to carry around.

Both new docks sport a 3.5mm input jack for connecting portable, CD players or PCs via their headphone connection.

The Logitech Rechargeable Speaker S315i and Logitech Portable Speaker S125i will become available in the US and Europe later in August, priced at $130 and $70, respectively.
