iPhone apps: My Measures, Anitello, Presenter Pro

  • My Measures ($6) provides users with a way to store object dimensions on either their iPhone or iPod touch. Simply take a picture of the object, then measure it with a regular tape measure and input the data into the picture. All photos with dimensions can be saved to the mobile phone's photo library or e-mailed to other users. The app supports both portrait and landscape modes.

  • Anitello ($1) delivers a series of entertaining animations designed for everyday situations including how to cook steaks, stretching exercises, thunderstorm tips, and how to start a car. Each animation lasts approximately one-minute in length and comes with zoom and replay functions. Users can also activate speech balloons for the animations during times when they don’t want the sound on.

  • Presenter Pro ($2) is a presentation training application that provides tools for enhancing and refining the user's presentation skills. It offers hundreds of quick-tips for presentations, along with a checklist and notes to help keep track of topic paragraphs or stored comments. The app also delivers a variety of supporting graphics, audio clips and videos to help improve the user’s presentation capabilities.

  • CBC Radio (free) allows users to listen to CBC radio programs on their iPhone and iPod touch. It provides 19 different live streams and more than 60 of CBC’s most popular programs on-demand. Users can browse for archived episodes, search for local frequencies, or browse the CBC.ca website. The app also includes a sleep timer and enables users to add archived episodes to a favorites list for simpler access.

  • Budgeter (free) is designed to help users keep track of their money and calculate expenses. It features both a hidden expense and monthly cash-flow calculator, and includes a net-worth calculator as well. It also compares insurance rates for auto, home, life, disability, and other major issues. The app will gather competitive insurance quotes from several sources, and covers up to ten different types of insurance.
