Sonos apps, gear get Twitter support

Sonos on Friday announced through a Twitter post that its CR200 touchscreen controller, Sonos CR for iPhone and Sonos CRs for Mac and PC will get the ability to post tweets on Twitter directly through a given device. The feature should come through a software update that, on the Controller or an Apple device, will bring an onscreen keyboard.

Sonos products have always supported online access but have usually been limited to music services such as Rhapsody, Pandora, Napster, Last.fm and Sonos Radio.

The Twitter extension should be available today as a beta feature of the Sonos system's 3.1 firmware update and should reach other devices later in the fall. Every upgrade will be free for existing owners.
