Preventing maximum app exposure
Developer Cramzy claims that although its Celebrity Birthday Match app was approved for the App Store on October 4th, it never appeared in the list of recently-released apps. The program was more importantly submitted on September 24th, which is said to be around the same time a number of developers were reporting difficulty with iTunes Connect. Due to Connect being used for everything from app delivery to software management, developers experienced severe problems when submitting new apps or updates.
Cramzy asserts that a number of other developers have also had apps go unpublicized, damaging sales. Although Apple ultimately fixed the issue with iTunes Connect, Cramzy says it has yet to receive a reply regarding its particular situation.
The Celebrity Birthday app makes reference to over 20,000 celebrity birthdays, listed in a scrollable calendar. Specific birthdays can be found either by date or in a search for individual names. The app is currently priced at $1.

Why does every developer with a complaint about the iTunes App Store get a front page article on MacNN? There's no fact checking, frequent corrections, and in short ABSOLUTELY NO NEWS in this. Let them post in the forums.

Recent releases?

That's his complaint? Seriously, who even looks at recent releases. Are people that hard up for excitement they're checking that list daily to see what other c*** they can stick on their iPhone? "OMG, Celebrity Birthday Match is available! I've just got to have it to know the birthdays of "celebrities", because, in essence, I have no life of my own and must keep up on everything happening to 'famous' people!"

Yes, iTunesConnect sucks

The author probably has no experience with iTtunesConnect. This is just one of the problems of their system, full of rough edges, hangs, inconsistencies, stupidities and non-sense. For me their biggest problem is the documentation. Is like learning how to build a multi-dimensional time displacement machine using generic instructions written in archaic aramaic by a guy pissed enough to include enough details that would easy your life trying to decipher and understand the whole thing.
A simple application that would take 2 to 4 weeks to be ready, generally takes 3 times more, because you have to learn thru forums, books and with other people's help, cause it is impossible to understand a single line of their documentation.
