Sirius XM debuts companion iPhone app for XM SkyDock

Foreshadows actual hardware

Although its companion hardware has yet to be released, Sirius XM has released a dedicated XM SkyDock app for the iPhone and iPod touch. Users are able to tune into various XM satellite radio stations, including artist-specific stations for the likes of Elvis Presley and the Metropolitan Opera. While listening, stock and sports tickers provide visual feedback.

Users can also tag tracks for later buying through iTunes, or configure the app to send notifications whenever particular artists, songs or teams are on-air. The app requires iPhone 3.0 firmware or later, and can operate in both portrait and landscape modes. It is a free download, though it is useless without an XM subscription and the matching hardware, which is scheduled to ship later this fall.

    Some more info

Pretty sure the dock comes out THIS Sunday (11th), not later this fall.

It will have the complete XM lneup and can have Best Of Sirius (ie. Howard).

I guess Chotty plans to buy one.
