SecretBox 2 improves interface, adds features
App4mac has released a major upgrade to its data protection program for both the Mac and iPhone: SecretBox 2 is designed to create a database which can be used to store information such as credit card numbers, software registrations, and e-mail logins. New features in the Mac version include an upgraded user interface, additional support for syncing with the iPhone or iPod touch, and improved stability. Approximately 60 percent of the code s also said to be re-written to help enhance performance and security.
Other changes provide new text and CSV export formats, as well as added icons which have a 64 x 64 pixel resolution. Increased support has also been included for use with web browsers, search function, and importing RapidoSerial documents.
iPhone and iPod touch improvements provide a new user interface, improves note management and security, and adds the ability to export a database to the Mac.
SecretBox 2 works with any Mac OS X 10.5 or higher, which includes Apple’s latest Snow Leopard operating system, as well as any iPhone or iPod touch running OS 3.1 or later. The Mac version is priced at $45 regularly but is currently available for a discounted price of $30 until the end of October, while the iPhone app is priced at $5.
