SportShell for iPod touch, SmartCase for iPhone
Marware and IvySkin have each announced updated iPhone and iPod touch cases, the SportShell and the SmartCase. The SportShell is now available in a version for the second-generation iPod touch. It uses a three-piece hard shell, made of polycarbonate plastic with a rubberized finish. The case can operate as a flat-back or open-back case, or else clip to a belt where it can rotate 360 degrees.
The SmartCase is intended for the iPhone 3G and 3GS, and combines IvySkin’s Quattro-T4 Glass Touch-Thru case with a Quattro battery. The latter extends a phone's life by up to 200 percent, for a maximum of 350 hours of standby time, 28 hours of audio or eight hours of video. Internet life tops out at six hours with 3G, or seven when using Wi-Fi.
The SportShell is priced at $35 and comes with a cleaning cloth and clear screen protector. The SmartCase is available for $80 and comes in black.
