Software supports scrobbling, tagging, more

Snarb.tk has released a public beta of its new iTunes controller, Everplay. The new media player offers playback of music from iTunes libraries and Last.fm online radio services. It can browse and search for individual tracks, with metadata and playcounts both updated on the next launch of iTunes. Everplay also supports a jukebox mode for making playlists on the fly.

Global hotkeys, Growl support, fullscreen capabilities and visual notifications are all unique to Everplay. The software allows scrobbling to Last.fm, banning and loving of tracks, song tagging and comments for artists on the service. Everplay can create Last.fm streams based on songs from an iTunes library.

The new media player requires Mac OS X 10.5 or higher and iTunes 7.5 or later. It also requires a Last.fm account to utilize all of its features. Pricing has not been announced for the final version, which is expected January.
