Update also adds interface improvements
Google has released v2.0 of Google Earth for the iPhone, its portable 3D mapping software. Users navigate a graphic representation of the Earth, on which various places, businesses, photos and Wikipedia articles can be located. The second edition is a major update, allowing users to import Google Maps content from the web. After logging into a Maps account, the app can impose route information on terrain.
Interface tweaks include a new glow under selected icons, making it clearer which one is being picked. Should a finger hit more than one icon, a list now appears, allowing people to choose a specific item. The number of supported languages has meanwhile been expanded from 18 to 31, covering everything from variants of English and French through to Arabic, Hebrew and Thai. The app is a free download for the iPhone and iPod touch.

Version clarification?
Wait - is this a new version 2.0 of the app itself ("Google Earth 2.0 for iPhone"), or an update to Google Earth which is only compatible with older iPhone OS versions ("Google Earth for iPhone 2.0")?
