TouchDJ enables track manipulation
Amidio has released a DJ-style MP3 mixing app for the iPhone and iPod touch, Touch DJ. The software allows users to manipulate two MP3 files and take advantage of ‘Visual Mixing,' a feature which provides side-by-side graphic displays of both track waveforms. Customization controls include scratch looping, positioning, equalization, or effects and pitching functions, all of which can be done in real-time from the device's interface.
Both the bass frequencies and higher tones are detected and rendered in different colors, providing users with a simpler way to compare tracks and work with various effects. The app also features a 64-bit processing engine and a variety of track-based functions such as uploading and recording of personal samples, freezing tracks, and setting loop points. It also offers both Twitter and Facebook integration for sharing information with friends or family.
Aside from the main 'Visual Mixing' mode, the app provides a 'Split' mode that requires users to have a specific splitting adapter. The left channel connects to the master output and the right channel provides headphone output, enabling users to listen to mixed tracks before they are sent to the main speakers. The app supports WAV files and comes with 25 built-n dance tracks which have been provided by DanceMusicHub.com.
TouchDJ is available to download from the App Store for $20.

thats a lot of trouble to go to, just to produce a gimmick. No DJ worth their salt would put out a mono signal from an iphone socket either.
