Corporations promise concert audio, video

Apple has signed a deal with concert promoter Live Nation, in a deal that should see a number of recordings sold exclusively through iTunes. Both audio and video offerings are planned, which will be taken from concerts recorded in 80-plus venues equipped for capturing the material. Live Nation stages over 22,000 concerts annually, though it is likely that only a fraction will become available online.

Concerts are already on sale under a special Live Nation Presents category at the iTunes Store; some artists so far include A Fine Frenzy, Ziggy Marley, Corinne Bailey Rae and The Bird and the Bee. Prices vary, but typically range between $5 and $10 whether for videos or albums. Most videos can be rented for $4.

Right up there with record producers and other industry people. Suck 'em dry until they have nothing left to give, then throw them out on the street.....
