Narrows content focus

eBay has launched Deals, a second free iPhone app. Likewise meant as a companion to the eBay website, the title differs from its sibling by concentrating exclusively on auctions with no bids and less than fours remaining. Users create custom searches, which screen matching listings for bidding. The app also highlights several categories, such as Daily Deals.

Before bidding the app displays relevant auction info, such as prices, shipping details and the exact time remaining before bids close. Future versions of Deals are expected to allow more refined searches. Also coming are alerts; at present, users must remember to open Deals and check on auctions themselves.
