Apple posts Digital Camera RAW, iDisk app updates

Camera update targeted at high-end DSLRs
Apple is distributing two new minor software updates, beginning with a Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update, v2.7. The patch extends RAW format support within iPhoto '08 and '09, as well as Aperture 2. New is support for four professional-level DSLRs: Canon's EOS-7D and EOS-1D Mk. IV, and Nikon's D3S and D300S. Also supported are the Nikon D3000, and the Canon PowerShot G11.
Also newly upgraded is the MobileMe iDisk companion app for the iPhone. The title lets users access the contents of iDisk folders, or e-mail download links to others. Version 1.1 of the app will auto-complete addresses when e-mailing, and save copies of outgoing messages to Mail's Sent folder. Images can now be saved or copied by tapping and holding them.
The RAW update is being distributed through Mac OS X's Software Update mechanism. MobileMe iDisk can be downloaded from the App Store.

Thanks Apple, for completely ignoring a whole entire camera platform. My switch to Lightroom is imminent.

The iDisk app doesn't give you access to your Sites and Web folder. I guess Apple thinks since those are accessible via the web, there's no need to go through them. Which is great, if you remember the names of all your files, and you have the address memorized or bookmarked.....

Another micro 4/3 owner here who would really, REALLY like to be able to run my photos through iPhoto. The cameras have been out for like a year now, c'mon!
Heck, I don't even mind if Apple doesn't offer direct RW2 support for the G1 and others--I'd be perfectly happy if they'd just add support for the latest version of Adobe DNG, which supports the lens correction features of micro 4/3 RAW. Got a big heap of new DNGs that I need to manage manually, and it's getting really annoying. The format was released about six months ago, too.
(Then again, Adobe can't even be arsed to add support for DNG5.4 to Photoshop CS3's RAW importer, which is so insulting it's turned me off ever buying an Adobe product again.)
