Chorus reveals recommended iPhone apps for November

Top 10 paid and free iPhone apps listed

Envio Networks, creator of the iPhone app Chorus, has released a list ranking app popularity. Chorus is a free program designed to find other iPhone apps, providing reviews from other users along with a real-time feed showing apps recently downloaded by friends. Chorus is still a relatively new app, with its release in early November of this year, although users' data has been compiled to show the the recent popularity of free and paid apps, including the top 10 apps recommended by friends.

GroupSmarts has announced a major upgrade to its Mac-based digital storytelling utility, MemoryMiner 2.0. The app allows users to create digital stores which link audio, video, pictures or other media. Version 2 offers a new Maplines view, support for Reverse Geocoding, and a new Ken Burns-style pan and zoom effect available through every selection marker. Support is also offered for recording video or audio annotations with QuickTime=compatible devices or the integrated iSight camera.

This limited beta carries the usual warnings attached to any ptr-release software and requires potential participants to register online. Meanwhile, professional photographer Chase Jarvis has announced the release of his new iPhone application, Best Camera. The photography utility features functions for both capturing and editing images directly on the mobile interface.

Barclay's: Macs, Touches likely to be up in Dec. quarter

iMac delays blamed on combination of factors

Apple stock is currently attractive for a variety reasons, writes Barclay's Capital analyst Ben Reitzes. The stock is now sitting at approximately $200, and said to be poised to hit $235. This is primarily because of Mac sales, which Reitzes argues will grow at least 22 percent in the December quarter, and likely more. A recent iMac shipping delay is attributable to both technical problems and unexpected demand, he adds.

Magellan Premium iPhone Car Kit up for pre-order

Magellan Premium Car Kit to ship January 7th

Navigation device and related peripherals maker Magellan has begun offering its Premium Car Kit for the iPhone and iPod touch for pre-order, also announcing a ship date of January 7th for the device. The kit includes a windshield mount with a built-in GPS sensor of its own so that devices such as the original 2G iPhones and iPod Touch devices can also benefit from the navigation function. In 3G and 3GS models of the iPhone, the external GPS chip is said to improve the reception of the Apple devices.

Unreal Engine 3 gains iPhone, iPod support

Should allow more advanced iPhone games

Unreal Engine 3 has been converted to run on iPhones and iPod touches, a recent demonstration reveals. Created by Epic, the technology is used in a number of PC and console games as the basis for rendering, as well as other major game components; some Epic titles with the UE3 engine include Gears of War 2 and Unreal Tournament III. Graphically the engine supports dense geometries and complex lighting.
