Record video with QuickTime compatible devices

GroupSmarts has announced a major upgrade to its Mac-based digital storytelling utility, MemoryMiner 2.0. The app allows users to create digital stores which link audio, video, pictures or other media. Version 2 offers a new Maplines view, support for Reverse Geocoding, and a new Ken Burns-style pan and zoom effect available through every selection marker. Support is also offered for recording video or audio annotations with QuickTime=compatible devices or the integrated iSight camera.

The new Maplines view displays a single, chronological line overlaid on a Google Map view, with geographical marker points indicating where a photo was taken. The face marker is now converted to a MemoryMiner selection marker when uploading files from the iPhone, enabling users to re-size the markers as needed.

The software offers the ability to embed all annotation data directly within the photo files using the Adobe XMP/IPTC format, with an option to create ordered collections publishable through the revamped web viewer. Collections can also be published as Flickr sets and can be updated with changes made from the desktop version.

MemoryMiner 2 requires Mac OS X 10.5 or higher and is available with a single-user license for $40. Users running any previous version of the app can upgrade for $20. A full-featured, 21-day trial version can also be downloaded directly from the company’s website.
