PowerPak XT and PowerPak Duo

Technocel on Tuesday introduced two new products for its line of portable batteries and in-home chargers: the PowerPak XT and PowerPak Duo. Both devices are re-designed versions of the previously released PowerPak, and offer larger batteries. By using the interchangeable tips they are said to support roughly 95 percent of available handheld USB devices, along with any standard USB cable included with most wireless products. Each portable battery also features built-in LED indicator lights for displaying the amount of remaining power.

PowerPak XT features a single USB port and contains a 1600mAh lithium-ion battery that delivers up to four and a half extra hours of talk time. PowerPak Duo offers two USB ports and includes a built-in 2500mAh battery for a maximum increase of six hours worth of talk time. Additionally, each battery is capable of simultaneously charging itself and a USB attached device when plugged into an outlet.

While the devices are not set for release until the end of the month, PowerPak XT is expected to sell for $50, while the PowerPak Duo will cost $60. (The company will also be offering a PowerPak charging station hub for all CES attendees from January 7th through 10th, at the south hall upper level, booth #30913.)
