Ford reveals MyFord dashboard interface

Presenting at the CES expo in Las Vegas, Ford has formally introduced MyFord, a new dashboard interface. The technology replaces a number of the gauges in a vehicle with two 4.2-inch LCDs, which can be customized to display particular information. Many controls are being replaced with an eight-inch touchscreen, as well as five-way buttons on the steering wheel, and Sync-based voice commands.
Deployment of MyFord is expected to be slow, as the first cars to use it will be the 2011 Ford Edge and the 2011 Lincoln MKX, the latter hosting the technology under the MyLincoln Touch alias. Global availability is set to begin with the 2012 Ford Focus. By 2015 the company anticipates having 80 percent of its North American cars equipped.
