Slacker iPhone app leaves US for first time

updated 04:20 pm EST, Mon January 18, 2010

Now available in Canada

Slacker has expanded the reach of its iPhone application, making a version available for the Canadian App Store. The launch complements the introduction of the web service to Canada, and also marks the first time the app has been available outside of the US. Users have access to the Slacker music library, and a default selection of 100 genre stations.

Custom stations can be created and opened from within the app, and shared with other people via links. Also present is the option of browsing artist pages and album reviews; lyrics are limited to users with a paid Slacker Radio Plus subscription. The app is a free download, and runs on any iPhone or iPod touch with v3.0 firmware or better.
