The US Army has released an official iPhone app with access to news and other media; Toon Boom has reduced the price of several products.
The US Army has launched an official app for the iPhone and iPod touch. The title lets users access news, images and videos from the Army website. Users also have the ability to save stories for offline viewing, and spread them to friends via e-mail, Twitter or Facebook. In addition to news and media the app includes a tile-based strategy game, and information on ranks, equipment, uniforms and the Army song.
Toon Boom lowers prices for several products
Said to be in response to requests, Toon Boom has lowered the costs of some of its products. Studio, Storyboard, Pencil Check Pro and Animate are affected, resulting in price drops between 17 and 50 percent. Joan Vogelesang, the company's CEO, claims that the decision was made to give beginning animators access to software for personal and professional work.
