Among most successful iPhone apps
Firemint has announced that Flight Control, its game for the iPhone and iPod touch, has exceeded over 2 million in sales. Originally released on March 5th of last year, the app is claimed to have surpassed its first million sales within three months, and hit the 2 million mark on January 23rd of this year. During its climb the app has held the number-one selling position in at least 20 different countries including Canada, Japan and the US.
Flight Control is said to average around 6,000 sales a day at present, and have had two major peaks in the past. The first spanned March 28th and 29th in 2009, when each day the company sold approximately 30,000 copies. The second occurred last Christmas, when about 20,000 downloads were made.

Simple is best

Just goes to show that a simple yet original idea is sometimes the best. Much better than a million and one versions of the same old puzzle game. Plus it makes full use of the technology, it just wouldn't have worked as well on another platform.
