Flight Control, Line Rider Racing, Hangman RSS

As the iPad launch looms tomorrow, four new games have been launched for the new Apple platform. PopCap has launched its popular iPhone and Mac zombie fighting game, Plants vs. Zombies HD for iPad. The game pits the user against hordes of zombies using a variety of plants to fend them off. The iPad version adds larger graphics taking advantage of the iPad's display; it also gets exclusive achievements, 18 mini-games and the survival mode. The new iPad version is $10 and available now on the App Store.

Firemint has launched Flight Control HD for the iPad. The app upgrades the familiar flight controller experience, relying on players' multi-touch control to guide planes to proper landing zones and dodge collisions. It has new visual designs taking advantage of the iPad screen and new multi-player, including players sharing or splitting a screen as well as separate devices. It gains a new 3D view that requires common red/green 3D glasses. Flight Control HD is $5 on the App Store.

Sparkworkz has released Line Rider Racing for iPad, which allows gamers to design and then race their own tracks. The iPad version adds a split-screen head-to-head gameplay option and utilizes the added space and resolution. The app is $7 on the iTunes App Store.

Finger Arts has launched Hangman RSS HD for the iPad, using RSS newsfeeds to enervate challenges in the restyled game. It can be localized from 14 worldwide locations and has automatic news updating built-in. It too takes advantage of the iPad's greater resolution and grabs feeds from ABC, CNN, the New York Times, the BBC and USA Today, among others. The new app is $4 on the App Store.
