iPad gets new options for DJs
Close on the heels of Saturday's iPad launch, GrooveMaker has already released four looping apps: GrooveMaker D'n'B for iPad, GrooveMaker Hip-Hop for iPad, GrooveMaker House for iPad and GrooveMaker FREE for iPad. The first three focus on specific musical styles, allowing remixing with over 300 loops in each app, while the free version gives users a chance to preview the software using 120 loops from the Hip-Hop and House collections.
All four iPad apps allow users to work on a simulated mixer screen, using Multi-Touch input to create music from 8 given loop tracks. The app features master and loop volume sliders, along with controls for pan, tempo and solo features. DJs can now switch snapped grooves with a single touch and can control the number of loops that are automatically combined during a mix.
New users can try GrooveMaker Free for iPad at no charge. The House, Hip-Hop and D'n'B versions are $10 each.

Unless you can upload your own loops & sounds...
Unless you can upload your own loops & sounds, I think this is a toy one will bore of quite quickly.
C'mon Native Instruments & Ableton, tell me you've got something truly powerful and cool up your sleeve.
In my opinion, all the "DJ" apps out there really aren't going to be pro-grade unless there is some way to get a headphone cue mix out of the device. I thought this sort of thing would have been possible with the iPhone-- but no one has built a device to enable two audio outs--(one for master & one for headphones), have they???
