Bang and Olufsen iPhone app controls AV gateway

Bang & Olufsen has thrown itself into the iPhone app realm by launching BeoLink (free, App Store) as a companion to its home theater gear. The app lets an iPad, iPhone or iPod talk to the Danish company's Master Link Gateway over Wi-Fi and can give control over not just the TV, DVDs or stereos but the house itself: it can unlock the door or turn on outdoor lights from the same software. Previously, even the company's Beo5 remote could only work inside.

Currently, BeoLink isn't optimized for the larger resolution of the iPad's screen and upscales on the tablet. Bang & Olufsen hasn't said whether it plans a more optimized version for the future.
