Update streamlines user interface, works faster

SubRosaSoft.com has released an update to its drive duplication software for the Mac, CopyCatX 5.0. The software uses sector copying and can quickly create an exact duplicate of a hard drive, including a Mac OS X boot drive, or an iPod. It can also clone Boot Camp drives and Windows, TiVo and Linux drives. It uses proprietary resizing technology on HFS Plus drives to recover lost space after a cloning.

Version 5.0 offers faster performance and a streamlined user interface. It also adds file and folder copying, for targeting specific files for back-up instead of whole drive copying. It offers presets for backing up Mail, Pictures and Movies folders. Snow Leopard compatibility arrives in version 5.0 as well.

CopyCatX 5.0 requires Mac OS X 10.4 or higher. It is available as a download for $50 or on disc for $60 plus shipping.
