App must be open to save channels

Slacker has announced that that its v2.0 app for the iPhone has been approved by Apple and added to the App Store. The update now allows users to cache channels for offline listening or minimal dependence on 3G networks when a Wi-Fi connection is unavailable.

Despite the new feature, the app still lacks the full caching abilities of its Android counterpart. While the Android variant automatically downloads each cache in the background, iPhone users must keep the app active and manually select the channels that should be cached.

Slacker 2.0 is now available as a free download directly from the App Store. The caching functionality requires a Slacker Radio Plus account, which can be purchased for $4 each month.

    Wait!

You can't do this! This will allow people to record and playback later, which is just as good as stealing music and content! You might as well give these people the digital masters to all the content and a distribution channel in China!
