Apple posts online, retail store app

Apple continued to draw the lion's share of news today as it has posted the rumored Apple Store app (free, App Store). The currently iPhone-only app provides a mobile-optimized way to shop the online store with reviews but also ties closely to the retail store. Shoppers can find any Apple retail store worldwide and make Genius Bar, One to One or Personal Shopping appointments.

The app also provides a schedule of events and workshops for stores and lets customers sign up for these as well. Customers buying an iPhone can reserve it for pickup at the store instead of buying it outright.

So far, the app is only available through the US App Store and shops only the US online store.

    Crashes

The apple app crashes every time it goes to check eligibility from AT&T.. Haven't been able to order my iPhone 4 upgrade from Apple or AT&T today

It can't crash. Apple has a long and arduous review policy to make sure all applications work as advertised before they're approved.
