Sprint prepping iPod touch case with Wi-Fi hotspot?

ZTE Peel to give iPod its own 3G data
An FCC filing discovered late Wednesday has signaled a unique Sprint plan to capture Apple device users. A ZTE device known as the Peel would serve as an iPod touch case but would hold a full 3G-to-Wi-Fi mobile hotspot in its back. The combo would give the iPod, and other nearby devices, an always-on 3G connection without needing a separate MiFi.
The Peel's capabilities aren't fully outlined, but it would have its own battery; there's no Dock Connector or similar attachment to whatever device it would hold. A mini USB port on one side would let owners charge from either a computer or the likely wall power adapter.
Sprint's filing hasn't given away its launch plans. ZTE would have to ship the device quickly to support the current iPod touch, as a new model could ship at the end of the summer and might force ZTE to change its design. [via Phone Scoop]

with that size, hopefully it offers more battery life than current MiFis. Otherwise, it's just a case with a mifi taped on to it.

I think the possibilities are huge here for commercial applications that require data transmission.

There's no actual connection to the iPod touch so it's just a standard mifi in a case. Get those commercial applications a MiFi and you'd have the same exact thing no?
