mTrip releases five new mobile travel guides
PhoneTrasact has launched a new accessory that allows users to scan a credit card with an iPhone or iPod touch, while mTrip has released five new city guides to its line of mobile travel apps
A new iPhone accessory for scanning credit cards has been released by PhoneTrasact. The Credit Card Reader features a one-piece design compatible with the iPhone 3G/3GS, along with the second- or third-generation iPod touch. The device supports bidirectional card reading that meets ANSI/ISO standards, while the accompanying software, iMerchant Pro ($1), can be used with most merchant accounts. Until August 20, customers can order a Credit Card Reader for a special introductory price of $100, after which the price will rise to $130.
mTrip updates line of iPhone travel guides with five new cities
mTrip has announced the addition of five new cities, including Washington, Venice, Madrid, Vienna, and Moscow, to its line of mobile tour guides for the iPhone and iPod touch. Users can browse through a selection of top-rated tourist attractions and view ratings, reviews, descriptions, and pictures of each. Users can also organize these attractions into a personalized itinerary, or use augmented reality to see nearby attractions. Other features include maps, directions, virtual postcards, and full offline functionality. All 14 city guides can be found in the App Store for $6, excluding Paris, which is currently being offered for free.
