Multiplayer for Nanosaur 2, Cro-Mag Rally, Enigmo

Following Apple's Game Center introduction alongside iOS 4.1, Pangea has updated three of its popular App Store titles with new multiplayer capabilities. Nanosaur 2 offers six new levels and three new multiplayer modes including Capture the Eggs, Battle and Race. The game takes advantage of Game Center features such as friend invites or auto-match.

The developer's caveman racing game, Cro-Mag Rally, now supports multiplayer networked racing, allowing up to four players to race against each other in any of the available vehicles. Version 2.0 also works as a universal app for the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch.

Enigmo, a physic-based puzzle game, also adds Game Center capabilities. Version 4.0 now allows three users to compete to solve puzzles. All of the updates support voice chat for in-game communication between players.

All three updates are now available as free downloads for existing users. New customers can purchase Cro-Mag Rally or Enigmo for $3 each, while Nanosaur 2 is available for $4.

    Nanosaur2 Slow

Nanosaur was one of the first iOS games I bought for my iPod touch and had forgotten about it. I loaded the new update on my iPad, but was disappointed by the frame rate. It's a little jerky, but playable. Still, it looks pretty good and is a pretty good example of an iOS game with a simple control system. Hopefully Pangaea will be able to optimize it a bit more.

I wonder how much better it (and other apps) would play had Apple put a decent amount of RAM in the iPad, like 512MB or 1 GB? Apple has always been skinflints in the RAM department. Weeeee, 50 cents more profit per unit!
