100 games published, with 25 reaching number one

Gameloft has announced that it has now exceeded 20 million paid games on the the iTunes App Store since it opened in July 2008. Of the 100 games that they have developed for the iPhone and iPad, 25 have reached the number one position. Since January 2010, they have added another 18 iPhone games and 29 iPad games.

Upcoming games on their roster, due before year's end, include: NFL 2011 HD; Assassin’s Creed: Altair’s Chronicles HD; and Spider-Man: Total Mayhem HD for the iPad. Joining these will be Dungeon Hunter 2, Gangstar: Miami Vindication, and Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus for the iPhone.

While a number of app developers haven’t been able to turn a profit, the iOS platform is continuing to prove to be among the more successful business models in helping software developers monetize their apps on any platform.
