Apple founding new Manhattan office for iAd sales team?

Current SoHo offices said to be too small

Apple is setting up a new Manhattan office for its iAd sales team, several sources claim. The space is said to be located near Union Square, and should replace or complement an existing office in SoHo. The latter is actually a former home of Quattro Wireless, which Apple acquired for $275 million in order to found iAd. The SoHo office is believed to be too small, however, never meant to hold more than 30 people.

New York City is perhaps the heart of the advertising industry, making it essential to have a major presence there. Still more evidence for an NYC expansion comes from Apple job listings, which have gained 12 iAd positions in New York City during the last 10 days. These include two account managers, three strategic sales planners, five account executives and more.

    Mad Men. Mad iAd Men.

iAd is going to be very important as an easy source of revenue that Google has been cleaning up with. Apple needs to get the biggest and wealthiest companies to sign up and be seen on all iOS devices. With four iOS devices there should be a fairly large user base to start with and by next year it could double. No major company would want to miss out on that size captive audience.
