Hasbro My3D to bring 3D images to iPhone, iPod

Hasbro plans to show a new gadget to investors on Tuesday that will let iPhone and iPod touch owners view 3D images. According to a Monday report, the attachment will be called My3D and will let users view 3D thanks in part to special My3D apps. Some apps will need to be paid for, while others will be free. Hasbro worked with Apple on the development of the add-on.

Hasbro has teamed up with Dreamworks Animation, the Discovery network, Sony and Imax to develop content. Viewers will have access up to 20 minutes of content from movies and behind-the-scenes videos. Development is also underway for games in 3D, as well as educational apps that will let kids engage in pretend scuba diving.

The My3D will arrive in stores next spring for $30.

does anyone around here remember those view-master slides that were in 3D. now its reached the new generation.

sad that the kids these day may one day see a viewmaster at a garage sale and wonder where the iPod is supposed to fit in!!
