Movies coming to Swiss, Italian, Spanish stores?

Video lags well behind music, app availability

Apple may be on the verge of making movies officially available in several more European countries, an Italian site claims. Macity notes that the option is, for instance, appearing for some iTunes and Apple TV users in Italy, although only by roundabout means; the option doesn't yet show in the iTunes Store's drop-down menus. A selection of movies is already present, such as Aliens, Avatar and Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief .

People can currently buy listed movies, but even though the option may display, renting doesn't yet work. Similar situations are said to exist at the Swiss and Spanish iTunes Stores. Apple's international movie distribution has lagged well behind its music and App Store efforts; only a small handful of countries can access films, such as Canada, the UK and the US. The company has not made much money off of video however, and distribution can require complex negotiations with different corporate and government interests.

They don't appear on the main home screen yet - you have to switch to the column browser (View/Column Browser) to see the Films Genre, but yep, there they are (and about freaking time). I imagine its a soft launch, and we will see them there properly in the next few days. Hooray!

In Switzerland I could buy and rent film

Hi, Saturday Night-Sunday morning I could buy two movies and rent one from the Swiss Store. It is true that on the homepage there is no Movies section and links yet, but I used this link: http://itunes.apple.com/ch/genre/movies/id33
The only problem for me is that... I'm Italian speaking and there are so few movies in Italian on the Swiss Store (less than 10 I think), all the others are in German and French.
