Verbatim outs networking box for the home

Verbatim has just announced the release of its new MediaShare Mini network box for the home. The device connects to TVs and/or computers and lets users stream multimedia content, or play back local files from connected USB drives. The thumb drives also automatically connect to the network, sharing their files.

A browser-based interface runs the media hub, and the box can support as many as four connected drives. Any computer on a home network can access the files, as well as remote Internet connections. Files can also be viewed, uploaded, downloaded and managed from remote locations as well, in some cases more than one at a time. Owners can set up a sharing option to send albums to others or post content to Facebook.

Supporting devices can access content as well, such as iPads, iPhones, BlackBerry devices and webOS phones like the Palm Pre. The PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and other DLNA-compliant devices are compliant with the MediaShare Mini. It works as an iTunes server for devices that support it.

The MediaShare Mini is now shipping for $90.
