Etymotic adds custom-tuned MicroPro earbuds

Personal high-end audio gear maker Etymotic Research has added a new range-topping MicroPro Series set of earbuds in the ER•4PT. Made for audiophiles and sound engineers, each set of the new headphones comes with a channel-matching compliance graph signed off on by an Etymotic engineer who personally tuned the balanced-armature drivers. The adjustment is paired with what the company claims is the highest noise isolation of all its earphones.

The ER•4PTs can produce up to 122dB of maximum output, and have a frequency response of 20Hz to 16kHz. Epytomic also offers a custom fit option to have the earbuds custom tailored to a given ear shape.

The headphones ship with a 0.25-inch adapter for home audio systems, and an airline adapter is included for international flights that don't accept the 3.5mm jack. Otherwise, Etymotic bundles a selection of eartips, a filter-changing tip, a storage box and a travel pouch.

The in-ear headphones are now available for $299.
