Allows use as a wristwatch, exercise companion
IPod accessory maker SwitchEasy has launched the Ticker for the sixth-generation iPod Nano, a wriststrap-style case that protects the music player while allowing the easy ability to use some of the Nano's other abilities, such as its clock and timer functions. The design makes earphone use easier for both left- and right-handed people, and is available in seven bright colors.
The case is made from a material called elastomer (a polymer based on rubber), said by the company to be more durable and shock resistant than standard silicone or rubber, secured with a stainless steel strap pin, and features polycarbonate push-through buttons to retain access to the Nano's functionality. The buttons provide a hard tactile response that will not age or stretch over time. The headphone jack is located at the bottom of the "face" area, and the low-profile design prevents the Nano from being any bulkier than a typical wristwatch.
The Ticker also comes with two anti-static screen guards, a microfibre wipe cloth and a Squeegee Screen Guard applicator. It sells for $25 and is available in black, white, red, blue, orange, pink or aubergine.
