Kobo iOS app users get Instapaper update

Kobo on Friday introduced an update to its e-reader app for the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch (free, App Store). Chief among the changes is the introduction of Instapaper. Like the stand-alone service, it lets users save web content for reading offline later. Users can sync their Kobo apps with Instapaper as they would any other title.

Any content saved in Instapaper that's also stored in the Kobo Library will be updated on its own in the Instapaper feed. Among other changes, users can Like books they've read in the app and share their current reading material on Facebook. Those on the iPhone and iPod touch can also share passages and notes from any book on the social network.

Each Kobo app is bundled with five public domain e-books, including Alice in Wonderland, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Dracula, The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes and Grimm's Fairy Tales, though they need to be downloaded first.
