Harman set to unveil multimedia system for Toyota at CES

Entune system is scalable, upgradable
Harman announced it will preview the new multimedia and navigation system, dubbed the Entune, at CES2011. Developed with Toyota, the Entune system will appear on select Toyota vehicles later this year. The Entune system is compatible with most smartphones and feature phones, and provides hands-free calling, music playback controls, and navigation features by voice command. It also has a text-to-speech function to read incoming SMS messages aloud.
Entune provides Bluetooth connectivity for telephone calls and music. The system also has USB and iPod/iPhone ports, and is integrated with several mobile music applications, including iheartradio, Pandora, and XM Satellite Radio. A premium JBL audio system upgrade is available.
The Entune system is integrated with a number of online mobile applications, such as Microsoft Bing point-of-interest searches, MovieTickets.com, and OpenTable.com restaurant reservations. Results from these searches can be added as navigation system destinations. Other Entune features include real-time traffic, news, sports, stocks, weather and fuel prices.
Entune extends on Safety Connect, Toyota's telematics system that provides automatic collision notification, stolen vehicle location, and roadside assistance.
