Last holdout comes to iOS platform

Some Random House books are beginning to appear in the US iBookstore, a report says. While only a few are present so far -- Randon House Webster's Pocket Grammar, Usage, and Punctuation being a given example -- the shift indicates that Random House has indeed made concessions and become the last major publisher to support iBooks. On Monday the company switched to an agency model, likely with the iBookstore in mind.

Apple will likely make mention of Random House during today's special press event. The iBookstore has been languishing in face of heavy competition from Amazon, which offers books compatible not only with the dedicated Kindle e-reader but also matching iOS and Android apps. Moreover, while there are over 800,000 Kindle titles, the iBookstore may have had less than 100,000 prior to Random House.

    This is awesome!

About 95% of what I read is published by RH. No more having to buy Kindle versions and strip the DRM and converting them to ePub to read them in iBooks anymore! WooHoo!
