Hamran Kardon ships premium bookshelf system

Harman Kardon has just released its compact bookshelf system, the MAS 102. The system is designed to be extra-efficient with a receiver that houses both an amplifier and a CD player, along with two separate loudspeakers. An FM radio is built-in, as are two USB ports, but an optional Bridge II dock allows for connecting an iPod or iPhone as a source fully recognized by the main system.

A headphone output and an aux-in for 3.5mm sources are standard as well. The amplifier sends 65W to each enclosure, which houses a five-inch mid-bass driver and a one-inch MMD-dome tweeter. The slot-load CD drive will read MP3 and WMA files on burned CD-R and CD-RW discs. Dual alarms and a sleep timer are built into the system as well.

The Harman Kardon MAS 102 is priced at $999.

    ? huh

Unless this device streams audio from the network in your house or from the Internet as it's primary function, you are using the word "receiver" incorrectly. In any typical stereo, the "receiver" is the AM/FM radio, so to have a radio "built-into" a receiver is nonsensical.

It's called a receiver cause it, you know ... receives stuff (over the air).

It could be just the way you've worded it is misleading, but since this article is kinda short already, you might want to actually take the time to explain what the parts are and what it has, as well as how it works. The whole thing is confusing, poorly worded, and too short.

Finally, in the title you say it's "iPhone ready" which in today's world would mean that it should have Airplay capabilities (which is why I clicked on the article at all), and yet this doesn't seem to have that. How can it be "iPhone ready" if it doesn't support all of the iPhones features?
