Puts Bing maps into iOS apps

Microsoft has released Bing Maps Control for iOS, a new developer download. The package is an Objective-C control, and should allow developers to embed Bing maps directly into iOS titles. Its gesture interface comes from Seadragon, and developers can toggle pushpins and other types of map overlays.

System requirements include Mac OS X 10.6.4 or better, as well as Xcode 4 and the most recent version of the iOS SDK. The code should help to expand Bing's presence in iOS, which is largely eclipsed by Google Maps. Bing's only toehold has been official iPhone and iPad apps.
