Bookshelf speakers have built-in amp and dock
Monster today announced the ClarityHD Model One High Definition Multi-Media Speaker Monitor. The Model One integrates an iPod dock and amplifier onto one of the bookshelf-sized speakers that come as a paired system. The speakers carry both 6.5-inch bass drivers and soft-dome tweeters.
In addition to the dock, the Model One provides a mini-jack input for smartphones, MP3 players and computers, a balanced 1/4–inch TRS input for recording, and RCA inputs for other audio or video devices. Monster also embeds a proprietary StreamCast port for future connections including Monster's optional, soon to be released, Bluetooth module for wireless audio.
Pricing for the speakers, which will be available in mid-July, will be $750 a pair.

dock?
No one does dock anymore. I'm surprised Apple still offers that as a licensing option. Figure they'd want everyone to move to airplay.
